In this photography-driven expedition, we follow the colibrí across the country’s most dramatic vertical landscapes—from the high páramo and glacier edges to the mist-covered rainforest. We use the term colibrí throughout this series because it belongs to the Andes as much as the bird itself: a small, precise word for one of the most fascinating creatures on Earth.
