Your technical training begins at the stunning Pasochoa volcano. This day is dedicated to building the bedrock of your mountaineering skill set. Under the close supervision of your lead instructor, you will master essential knot-tying, harness safety, and core rope management systems. We focus on efficiency and safety in technical terrain, ensuring you possess the fundamental technical tools required for the high-altitude challenges of the coming week.

Today, we elevate your training on the dramatic ridges of Rucu Pichincha. This intensive "fixed-rope school" focuses on the tactical side of high-altitude climbing, including rope transitions, rappel safety, and movement on exposed alpine terrain. After a demanding day of refining your technical systems, you will return to the refined comfort of Casa Gangotena. The evening is yours to recharge in the luxury of Quito’s finest historic hotel, ensuring you are fully recovered and ready for the shift to the Antisana glacier.

Today, we transition to the high-altitude environment of the Antisana massif. At an altitude of 4,600m, we establish our high camp, providing the perfect base for our technical focus. The day is dedicated to intensive "fixed-rope school," where you will practice high-altitude movement, rope systems, and safety protocols in a real-world glacial setting. Spending the night at 4,600m is a strategic step, pushing your physical boundaries while reinforcing your technical confidence under the watchful eye of our senior instructors.

We return to the Antisana glacier to master the complex terrain of its unique glacial features. This safe yet challenging environment is the ideal training ground for advanced crevasse rescue techniques, ice-wall navigation, and precision rope management. Having honed your skills on the ice, we descend to the nearby thermal paradise of Papallacta. Here, you will enjoy a well-deserved evening of recovery in the healing, mineral-rich hot springs, surrounded by the quiet majesty of the Andes.
