A photography day in the Andes requires more than a camera. Cold, moisture, altitude, long distances, changing light, and unpredictable weather all affect what can be carried and how well it can be used.

The photographer’s pack is a balance between capability and restraint. A camera body, wide-angle lens, telephoto lens, binoculars, spare batteries, memory cards, rain cover, dry bag, lens cloth, power bank, gloves, phone, notebook, and lightweight tripod each have a role. But carrying too much can slow movement, reduce attention, and make the day about managing equipment instead of seeing the landscape.

For Kordillera, photography is part of observation. The goal is not to carry a studio into the mountains. The goal is to carry enough to document weather, wildlife, terrain, light, and memory while still moving safely and attentively through the expedition.
