Chimborazo is in fact the real Top of the World – not Everest, whose summmit is some 6000ft lower. It’s simple – the Earth is not perfectly round and the Equator makes Chimborazo more than a mile higher than the tallest Himalayan Peak. Its the place on Earth closest to the Sun. Try to touch it!
