When Dr. Montejo climbed for the first time in Ecuador, he immediately became enthralled by its mountains – but NOT for the safety they were climbed with. He met Pancho, a certified guide, and they immediately shared the same concerns. Too many preventable accidents were occurring. Carlota, from Spain, who had become an expert in Ecuador’s best restaurants and top hotels from work on the IMAX Parallel0 project, joined the team too. She is considered by tour-operators in Ecuador their top ambassador! 

With Pancho’s expertise in guiding and Dr. Montejo’s experience in the Himalayas, and Carlota’s class picks – KORDILLERA was born. Its aim is to provide the safest of climbing environments using fixed ropes, use science to prevent health incidents, and provide the unforgettable luxury experiences that South America is known for.
